As most of you know, our principal Mrs. Mohorne, will not be returning to us in August. She is now working at the district office as the Director of Professional Development. We are welcoming Mr. Swheppe as our new principal from George Washington Carver Academy. He has many years of expertise that he'll be bringing to our school!
Mr. Swanson and Mrs. Harrelson will also be leaving us. They have both accepted positions as district mentor coaches to new teachers. So we'll have some new faces in the 2/3 grade pod!
In our own classroom, we are welcoming back Miss Denise! We also have another adult that will be helping us out, the familiar face, Miss Taylor! Sadly, Miss Anna won't be with us next year because she has moved to another town. We will miss her greatly!

Welcome!
Hello Hello! Welcome to my blog. I'm trying out something new to keep students and parents updated on things happening in our district, school, and classroom. Once school is back in session, I plan to post weekly if not more. I plan to share news, pictures, projects, assignments, and assessment information. For the summer months, I'll check in monthly unless I have news to share.

July Update
Greetings kiddos! Let me start by telling you that you were right, I do miss you! Boy has my summer been crazy? I hope yours is going good. For starters, I've been taking two classes and working like a little bee. I've been learning about ways we can use our iPads and computers better in our classroom. I can't wait to show you these new things!
Ava and Harrison have been busy too. Ava had a volleyball camp at UNI and decided she wanted to cut 7 inches off of her hair! Can you believe it? Harrison can crawl really fast now! He chases Hank and pulls himself up on everything. I bet by the time I see you again he'll be walking. Yikes! He also has discovered ice cream, that's his new favorite food.
Jeffery surprised us with a vacation to Chicago for our second year wedding anniversary. We took Ava and Harrison and did a lot of cool things! It was a five hour car drive but it went pretty fast.

Here we are at the Shedd Aquarium watching beluga whales.
We visited Millennium Park and played in the water fountains.
Here's Ava and I with the giant bean.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July! What are you doing to celebrate? We are going to Galena for the weekend to see my Mom and Dad. Ava is excited to see the parade and fireworks, I hope they don't scare Harrison! We are also going to a rodeo. I'm sure I'll have lots of exciting pictures to share with you.
Later on in July, we'll be going to Lost Island, the waterpark. I'm sure most of you have been there already this summer. I'm waiting for a REALLY HOT day. We haven't had to many of those yet. If I'm going to be in water all day, I want it hot! You know me, I'm always cold.
Check back at the beginning of August! It will be getting closer and closer to the beginning of your school year!
